Day 1 Home Port - Broome

Today you will be met at the airport in Broome upon your arrival. Enjoy a town tour before checking in to the Broome Sanctuary Resort at Cable Beach for the night. This afternoon enjoy a spectacular sunset over the Indian Ocean from Cable Beach.

Day 2 Broome - Port Hedland

This morning we depart Broome and head south along the Great Northern Highway. Pass between the Great Sandy Desert and Eighty Mile beach to arrive in Port Hedland mid afternoon. Tonight we overnight at the All Seasons Resort or the Cooke Point Holiday Park.

Note: Due to the mining boom it is difficult to secure accommodation in Port Hedland. As a result, some of our tours stay at the All Seasons Resort, and some stay at the Cooke Point Holiday Park. All accommodation is ensuited.

Day 3 Port Hedland - Newman

Port Hedland is the largest town in the Pilbara, and due to the massive mining operations in the region the town is home to Australia's largest tonnage port facility. This morning enjoy a tour of the BHP Billiton Ore Crushing and Port facilities, and follow the ore process from its arrival by rail to its departure aboard massive ships. Later this morning we depart Port Hedland en route to Newman. We arrive late this afternoon and check-in to the Seasons Hotel for our overnight stay.

Day 4 Newman - Karijini National Park

This morning we join a guided tour of the BHP Billiton Mt. Whaleback open cut mine. This is the largest open cut mining operation in the world, and is quite spectacular. After our tour we depart Newman and head to the Karijini Eco Retreat. Ideally located in the depths of the breathtaking Karijini National Park, the unique Karijini Eco Retreat is the only permanent up-market accommodation within the park. We spend the next 2 nights here in luxurious tented cabins with ensuite facilities.

Day 5 Karijini Exploring

Today enjoy exploring some stunning gorges around the Karijini National Park, some of which are suitable for a swim. We return to the lodge for a BBQ lunch before spending the afternoon touring around other sections of the park, including Hamersley Gorge. Return to the lodge mid afternoon and relax before dinner, or alternatively order a chilled drink from the bar and enjoy the sunset.

Day 6 Karijini - Millstream Chichester National Park - Karratha

This morning we depart the Karijini Eco Retreat and make our way up towards Karratha, a town established in 1968 to service and accommodate the iron ore miners in the Hamersley Ranges. En route we visit Tom Price before stopping off at magnificent Millstream Chichester National Park. Enjoy visits to Deep Reach and Chindewarriner Pools before arriving into Karratha late this afternoon. We spend the night at the Karratha International Hotel.

Day 7 Dampier - Exmouth

This morning we take a look around Karratha before heading out to Dampier. Located 20km from Karratha on King Bay, Dampier was specifically constructed in 1965 as a port and processing centre to meet the needs of the Hamersley Iron mining operations at Tom Price and Paraburdoo. This morning we visit the North West Shelf Project Visitors Centre to learn about Australia's largest resource project, where gas is drilled at an offshore platform 130km north of Dampier. We also pass by a large saltworks before heading south to Exmouth and the Ningaloo Marine Park. We spend the night at the luxurious Novotel Ningaloo Resort.

Day 8 Ningaloo Reef Cruise and Marine Park Exploration

Ningaloo is an untouched 260km long barrier reef that protects a shallow, brilliant white sandy lagoon of clear tropical waters. It is one of the only places on earth where you are able to walk from the beach straight onto a coral reef.

This morning we journey down to Coral Bay to enjoy a glass-bottom boat cruise and discover the amazing underwater environment of the Ningaloo Reef. Feel free to join one of your cruise guides for an unforgettable snorkelling experience through the clear warm water (all equipment is provided). This afternoon we continue heading south to Carnarvon to overnight at the Fascine Lodge.

Day 9 Exmouth - Monkey Mia

This morning we depart Carnarvon and journey south to Shark Bay and Monkey Mia. En route we stop off at Hamelin Pool and visit the Old Telegraph Station which is now a museum. We also visit the Hamelin Pool Marine Nature Reserve, one of only two places in the world with living marine stromatolites, or 'living fossils'. After a BBQ lunch we make our way up the Peron Peninsula to Denham. Here we visit the Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery Centre, a must see for travellers to the region. The Centre utilises artefacts, specimens, models, photo galleries, illustrations and electronic media to introduce visitors to all the major features of Shark Bay, including Indigenous and European culture, maritime and pastoral history, the flora and fauna of the region and much more.

This afternoon we arrive in Monkey Mia. We spend the night at the Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort on the beachfront.

Day 10 Shark Bay Marine Cruise - Geraldton

This morning we enjoy a wildlife sailing adventure on the World Heritage Listed Shark Bay. Shark Bay is home to an enormous variety of marine life, including dugongs, dolphins, sharks, huge sea turtles and much more. You won't have trouble spotting some of this unique marine life from onboard the modern catamaran.

After our cruise we depart Monkey Mia en route to Geraldton. Geraldton is a key port and administrative centre for the mid west region of Western Australia. We arrive in Geraldton late afternoon and stay overnight at the Ocean Centre Hotel situated on the beachfront.

Day 11 Geraldton - The Pinnacles - Perth

This morning we depart Geraldton and head south along the Brand Highway to one of the most renowned landscapes in Australia, the Pinnacles. Here, thousands of huge limestone pillars rise from the shifting yellow sands, resembling a landscape from a science fiction movie. Enjoy a wander through these eerie formations before departing for Perth. We arrive in Perth late this afternoon and check-in to the Holiday Inn Burswood.

This evening enjoy a farewell dinner as we look back on our adventure along the west coast of Western Australia.

Day 12 Perth - Home Ports

This morning enjoy some free time before being transferred to the airport for your return flights. Bon Voyage!
