Day 1 Sydney - Yass - Albury

Meet your tour this morning at Sydney Central Railway Station at 8.15am for an 8.30am departure. Enjoy some morning tea in Mittagong and get to know your fellow travellers before continuing south to Yass for a picnic lunch. We arrive in Albury late this afternoon and check-in to the town's premier hotel, The Chifley on Dean Street.

Day 2 Albury - Benalla - Geelong - Lorne

Enjoy a town tour this morning before continuing down the Hume Highway to Benalla. Take a look at the Weary Dunlop Memorial and stroll along the lakeside before continuing down to Torquay, the start of the Great Ocean Road. Visit the seaside village of Anglesea before arriving in Lorne to check-in to the Mantra Erskine Beach Resort on the waterfront.

Day 3 Otway Ranges - Great Ocean Road - Warrnambool

This morning we depart for the Otway Ranges and enjoy the scenic drive before arriving at the Otway Fly, a treetop canopy walk nestled amongst ancient Beech Myrtle forest within the Otway's. It provides visitors with an enriching environmental experience and is a true highlight of the tour.

This afternoon we travel the world renowned stretch of the Great Ocean Road and visit the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge. We arrive into Warrnambool late afternoon and check-in to the Sebel Deep Blue, Warrnambool.

Day 4 Maritime Museum - Mount Gambier - Coonawarra

This morning we visit the Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum in Warrnambool before departing for Portland, the only deep-water port between Melbourne and Adelaide. Continue on to the Princess Margaret Rose Caves for lunch and a walk through the caves before crossing the border into South Australia. This afternoon visit Mt. Gambier and the 'Blue Lake' before arriving at the Chardonnay Lodge in the heart of the famous Coonawarra vineyards. Enjoy some wine and cheese tasting before dinner.

Day 5 Coonawarra - Penola - Fleurieu Peninsula - Kangaroo Island

This morning we visit the historic township of Penola, home of Australia's first class-less school established by Mother Mary MacKillop in 1866. From here we continue north to arrive in Murray Bridge for lunch. This afternoon we travel down the Fleurieu Peninsula to Cape Jervis, the departure point to Kangaroo Island. Enjoy the 45 minute ferry trip across Backstairs Passage before arriving at Penneshaw. It's then a 60km drive to Kingscote where we check-in to the luxurious Aurora Ozone Hotel, our accommodation for the next 2 nights.

Day 6 Kangaroo Island sightseeing

This morning we visit Seal Bay Conservation Park, the home of Australia's largest colony of breeding Sea Lions. Enjoy a ranger guided beach walk before heading to the west of the island to Flinders Chase National Park. Enjoy a sumptuous BBQ lunch before a visit to the huge and mystifying granite formations known as Remarkable Rocks. Also enjoy a visit to Cape du Couedic and Admiral's Arch, where on sunny afternoons the stalactites can be seen silhouetted against the deep-blue Southern Ocean. We return to Kingscote late afternoon for our final evening on the island. After dinner this evening we enjoy a visit to the Kangaroo Island Marine Centre.

Day 7 Kangaroo Island - Hahndorf - Adelaide

This morning we catch the ferry from Kangaroo Island back to the Mainland. We travel up the Fleurieu Peninsula and through the Adelaide Hills to arrive in Hahndorf for lunch. After lunch enjoy some free time in Hahndorf before the short drive down to Adelaide. We arrive mid afternoon and check-in to the luxurious Stamford Plaza Hotel in the city for our 2 night stay.

Day 8 Adelaide - Barossa Valley

This morning we enjoy a visit to the South Australian Museum, home to the largest Aboriginal cultural exhibition in the world. There are also permanent exhibitions devoted to Antarctic explorer Douglas Mawson, rare fossils of the Flinders Ranges and more.

Later this morning we head up to the Barossa Valley where we'll visit several wineries. We return to Adelaide mid afternoon and visit Penfolds Magill Estate, located only 15 minutes from the CBD in the Adelaide Hills. This winery exudes the charm and character of its founders, whose pioneering spirit brought their family name into the homes of the Australian people more than 150 years ago. We enjoy a historical tour of the estate along with some tastings before returning to the Stamford Plaza.

Day 9 Adelaide - Wilpena Pound & Flinders Ranges

This morning we depart Adelaide and head north to Port Augusta. Known as the Gateway to the Flinders Ranges, Port Augusta is home to the award winning Wadlata Outback Centre, a multifunctional visitor centre. Visitors can step back in time and learn about the early explorers of Sturt, Eyre, Giles and Stuart and their brave expeditions into the unknown. We depart Port Augusta early this afternoon and journey through Quorn and Hawker to arrive at the Wilpena Pound Resort for our 2 night stay. Nested at the entrance to Wilpena Pound, the resort stands amid stately Red Gums and Native Pines on the banks of the Wilpena Creek.

Day 10 Wilpena Pound & Flinders Ranges

Wilpena Pound is located in the Southern region of the Flinders Ranges National Park. The pound is home to nearly half of South Australia's species of plants and is also home to some spectacular scenery and vibrant colours. This morning there is an opportunity for scenic flights to be taken over Wilpena Pound. Prices start at approximately $165.00 per person for a 30 minute flight.

Today we enjoy a day of touring through the Flinders Ranges including Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges. Visit Parachilna and soak up the atmosphere of this magnificent South Australian landscape with a gourmet lunch on the verandah of the Prairie Hotel. We return to the resort this afternoon and visit Old Wilpena Station and its original homestead.

Day 11 Wilpena Pound - Arkaroola

Today we depart Wilpena Pound and journey north to Arkaroola. Arkaroola is located in the northern region of the Flinders Ranges and is home to rugged mountains, towering granite peaks, magnificent gorges and mysterious waterholes, not to mention over 160 species of birds. We arrive late morning and check-in to the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary before embarking on a half day 4WD Ridge Top tour, travelling in specially constructed open-top 4WD vehicles. Enjoy being taken on a guided tour of some of the most spectacular and rugged country on earth.

Day 12 Arkaroola - Broken Hill

This morning we depart Arkaroola enroute to Broken Hill. We pass by Lake Frome Station and travel through the 'Dog Fence', one of the longest man made structures on earth. We cross into New South Wales and arrive into Broken Hill in time to visit Silverton, home to the movie set which has appeared in several films including Mad Max, A Town Called Alice and Mission Impossible II. We also visit the Broken Hill Sculpture Symposium before checking in to the Royal Exchange Hotel for our overnight stay.

Day 13 Menindee Lakes - Mungo National Park - Mildura

This morning enjoy a visit to the Broken Hill Geo Centre, which gives us an insight into all aspects of Broken Hill's unique geology. Afterwards we depart Broken Hill for Menindee, a town of 1000 people on the banks of the Darling River and home to the 'Menindee Lakes'. The town has ties to several Australian Explorers, including Burke and Wills, Charles Sturt and Major Mitchell. Enjoy a visit to the historic Maiden's Menindee Hotel.

Later today we journey into Mungo National Park which was World Heritage Listed in 1981 in recognition of its rich Aboriginal heritage. We visit the 'Great China Walls' which contain extremely well preserved campfires, cooking hearths and now exposed hairy-nosed wombat burrows. We arrive into Mildura late this afternoon and check-in to the Mildura Grand Hotel. This evening we enjoy dining at 'Stefano's, a renowned restaurant situated in the old cellars of the Mildura Grand Hotel. Experience a magnificent 5-course Italian style banquet.

Day 14 Hay - Shearer's Hall of Fame - Wagga Wagga

Today we travel to Hay and visit the 'Shear Outback' Shearer's Hall of Fame. We continue on to Wagga Wagga for our final night together at the Country Comfort Hotel.

Day 15 Yass - Sydney

We depart this morning and join up with the Hume Highway. Enjoy lunch at Yass before arriving into Sydney at approximately 4.30pm.
