Les Hiddins - The "Bush Tucker Man"

A Modern Day Explorer

In many ways Les Hiddins has been a modern explorer. He has an extraordinary background when it comes to the Australian Outback. From his work with the Australian Army developing survival strategies in the northern Australian bush to his television programmes and numerous books, Les has had a lifelong passion for the Outback.

Best known for his television show, "The Bush Tucker Man", Les roamed the outback by Land Rover, with his distinctive trademark hat, finding and discussing native Australian "Bush Tucker". Having traversed this huge continent many times over, no one knows the country better than he does. He's a man with extraordinary experience and an enormous wealth of knowledge.

These days Les spends his time doing what he loves best - travelling the outback at his leisure. But he'll be the first to tell you that travelling the Outback can be both challenging and unforgiving for those who are inexperienced or unprepared. That's why he exclusively recommends the professional, small-group premium tours of Outback Spirit.

Les works closely with us - so he understands our philosophy. And he knows we share his passion for the outback. His expert knowledge of flora and fauna, Aboriginal culture, and the early explorers has helped add unique depth and interest to our tours. He also assists us in providing advanced training of our Tour Drivers and Tour Directors.

We are privileged to have Les Hiddins on board and we're sure you'll enjoy the contributions of the 'Bush Tucker Man' to your Outback Spirit adventure.
