Outback Spirit Crew |

Making a great trip even better
Over the years we've learnt that having the best vehicles, the best itineraries and the best inclusions means very little if you don't have the best people conducting the tour. Without doubt it is the one element that overwhelmingly contributes to a tour's success. At Outback Spirit we are rigorous in our crew selection. Each of our tour drivers and tour directors go through a thorough training process and must meet our exacting standards before they ever meet you.
Only the best will do
It's true that not everyone we interview for a position at Outback Spirit will make the grade. Firstly we look for people who have in-depth knowledge of the places we visit. Then we listen to how they impart that knowledge to check that it's as informative, interesting and, at times amusing, as it can be. Once we find the right people we equip them with our own special training. At every stage our tour directors work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to ensure your absolute comfort, safety and enjoyment. They even add their own special touches to make your experience both personal and professional.
They've got what it takes behind the wheel
Driving large all-terrain coaches with up to 26 passengers on unsealed roads is something we take very seriously at Outback Spirit. That's why all our drivers must have actively held the required licenses and accreditations for at least 10 years. It's all about making you feel at ease as a passenger and ensuring the safety of everyone on board. However, as well as being experienced and professional, we also like them to be personable.
People who enjoy people
To be a successful tour director at Outback Spirit takes a very special kind of person. We've found that the best people for the job are the ones who are naturally outgoing and enjoy being around other people. In fact, we are one of the only tour operators to encourage husband and wife or partner teams to join us, because they work so well together. You'll find our tour directors are friendly, easy-going people who enjoy a laugh as together you relive the highlights of the day over dinner. It's all part of being involved, building a relationship and conducting a successful tour.
When you love what you do, it shows
Our people genuinely love what they do and it shows. Every day. They enjoy nothing more than helping their travelling companions to discover Australia's outback in our own unique way. They are dedicated to the job and to their passengers, that's why we are rightly proud of our tour drivers and tour directors. And judging by the continual stream of letters of praise and appreciation we receive, we're not the only ones. So come on board and you'll experience the spirit of our people, too.
