Exploring the Mitchell Falls
The Mitchell Falls (Punamii Unpuu) are one of the most sensational attractions in the Kimberley. Today we embark on a 4km moderate walk (medium to difficult terrain, a good level of fitness and manoeuvrability is required) that will take us past beautiful waterfalls and rarely seen rock art galleries featuring Gwion Gwion and Wandjina Art. Your guide will deliver full interpretation of the art, and we will also have an Indigenous guide to escort us from the local Kandiwal Community (if available). The walk concludes at the 4-tiered Mitchell Falls, where you’ll have some time to admire them while having a picnic lunch.
This afternoon we take a scenic helicopter flight back to the top of the walk. (Flight included). We then return to the camp, arriving at approximately 3pm. (B,L,D)
For passengers not wishing to do the Mitchell Falls walk there is an option to fly down by helicopter. An Outback Spirit guide will still escort you. Cost is $135 per person.
