Mitchell Falls walk – Rock art – Scenic heli flight
Today is definitely one of the highlights of the tour. After an early breakfast we begin the walk down to the Mitchell Falls. From the ranger station the walk is approximately 4km, mostly downhill (a good level of fitness and maneuverability is required). Along the way there are numerous rock art galleries featuring ancient Gwion Gwion (Bradshaw) and Wandjina rock art. Explore these galleries with an Indigenous guide from the local Kandiwal community (if available). There are also several spots for a swim along the walk.
For passengers not wishing to do the Mitchell Falls walk there is an option to fly down by helicopter. Cost is approximately $145 per person.
At the end of the walk we arrive at the 4-tiered Mitchell Falls – one of the most stunning attractions in the Kimberley. Admire the falls from several vantage points before boarding helicopters for a scenic flight transfer back to the top of the walk (included in fare). Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at your leisure before spending our second and final night on the Mitchell Plateau. (B, L, D)
