Mitchell Falls Exploring
After breakfast this morning we depart for the Mitchell Falls. From the ranger station we embark on a 4 kilometre walk (medium terrain to difficult terrain, a good level of fitness and manoeuvrability is required) which takes us past Little Merten's Falls, Big Merten's Falls and finally the 4-tiered Mitchell Falls. You'll be accompanied by an expert guide who will share their knowledge of the area's flora and fauna, aboriginal culture and history. Along the way you will visit severl ancient Gwion Gwion and Wandjina rock art galleries and also have the chance for a swim in one of the pristine waterholes. As we near the end of the walk you can begin to hear the sound of the spectacular Mitchell Falls. There are several vantage points from which to admire these sensational waterfalls. After a picnic lunch we board our helicopters for a short scenic flight back to the ranger station (included in fare). Viewing the falls from the air is a perfect way to complete your Mitchell Falls experience. Return to the camp for your overnight stay. (B, L, D)
For passengers not wishing to do the Mitchell Falls walk there is an option to fly down by helicopter. An Outback Spirit guide will still escort you. Cost is $135 per person.
