King Edward River Art Sites – Pandanus Palm Forest – Scenic Heli flight
This morning we prepare for our 3rd helicopter scenic flight, this time down to an area traditionally called ‘Munurru’, or King Edward River. We follow the Port Warrender Road, which in sections is completely under water, and fly over a Pandanus Palm Forest before landing at Munurru. The flight time will be approximately 15 mins and take us about 40kms away from the camp.
The land of Munurru was mythologically a central point for Aboriginal people and is linked to most other regions of the North Kimberley. It is home to a number of stunning art galleries, some of which are the most graphic in the Kimberley. Our expert guide will interpret the art work and give you a fascinating insight into its significance.
After our picnic lunch we board our helicopter for our 4th and final scenic flight back to the camp, this time taking in some of the Lawley River. Once back at the camp the afternoon can be spent at your leisure, perhaps relaxing by the swimming hole. For those interested, additional scenic flights can be arranged at your own expense.
This evening enjoy your final dinner at Ngauwudu Safari Camp.
