Outback Spirit is a COVID Safe Travel Company. We have a government approved COVID Safe Travel Plan in place for all tours.

  • All Outback Spirit staff have completed mandatory COVID training that meets both State and Federal Government recommendations.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting of vehicles, vessels, aircraft and lodgings is conducted in accordance with guidance from Safe Work Australia and public health authorities.
  • Face masks and alcohol based hand sanitiser are provided on arrival and are available on board vehicles, vessels and aircraft along with accommodation or on request.
  • Physical distancing measures will be in place wherever practical. In circumstances where physical distancing is not possible, the highest levels of cleaning, hygiene and personal protection options are implemented.

We ask that all guests adhere to the following protocols while on tour:

  • Please visit the State/Territory government website relevant to your tour destination to check if an entry permit is required. If required, permits must be carried with you. We will contact you prior to your tour to assist with travel permits.
  • Agree to a simple temperature screening test prior to commencing your tour or boarding a tour vehicle.
  • Report immediately to your Tour Director, Tour Driver or accommodation staff member if you become unwell while on tour.
  • Maintain social distancing of 1.5 metres when able to do so, including outdoors at tour locations and indoors at accommodation and restaurants.
  • We recommend wearing a face mask (supplied and on request) when unable to maintain adequate social distance such as on board vehicles, vessels and aircraft.
  • Practice good hygiene with regular hand washing with soap, and application of alcohol based hand sanitiser (supplied and on request).

As we are travelling in a small group, we are classified as a cohort and are permitted to travel in this group on the coach without having to maintain strict social distancing requirements. At other times and when possible, social distancing of 1.5 metres will be enforced in waiting areas, restaurants, boarding/disembarking, queues and outdoor tour locations i.e. National Parks, Wildlife Sanctuary’s etc.

Report immediately to your Tour Director, Tour Driver or accommodation staff member if you become unwell while on tour.

You will be isolated from other guests and provided with a face mask to wear. We will require some health information from you to complete a Medical Incident Report and consult with the COVID Helpline. We will keep you informed as we progress, but you must remain isolated as we are guided by health authorities. Your health and safety, plus the wellbeing of our other guests and staff are paramount.

The pandemic has meant we’ve had to make some adaptations. This firstly protects people’s safety and wellbeing, and secondly helps us to manage the quality and standards of our tours. We are confident your experience will be just as memorable.

We’re still offering the same included attractions and activities and have worked with our third-party providers to ensure they’re meeting the high health, safety and product standards that we have come to expect. Self-serve meals have been replaced with a full service buffet whilst on tour.

If the tour experience is not meeting our expectations, we have the right to alter the published itinerary to ensure the best guest experience available.
