About Cape York
Cape York Peninsula is an untouched wilderness dominated by mighty meandering rivers and vast flood plains. It’s the place where you can stand on the very tip of the Australian continent, discover the oldest rainforest in the world, and travel deep into wild frontier country.
Covering an expanse the size of Victoria, yet with less than 1% of Victoria’s population, Cape York Peninsula is a lush wilderness area few are privileged to visit. The Cape is bounded by the Gulf of Carpentaria with its sandbar-strewn waters to the west, while the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea line its eastern shore. To the north lies Torres Strait, where more than 200 islands pepper the narrow passage separating Australia from Papua New Guinea.

The Legendary Bloomfield Track
From Cape Tribulation, the Bloomfield Track delivers one of North Queensland’s most memorable off‑road journeys. The sealed road soon disappears, replaced by a rugged track climbing steeply through dense rainforest and dipping across multiple creek crossings. With an experienced tour driver at the wheel, you can relax and take in the scenery as the track winds toward the Bloomfield River. After crossing, Bloomfield Falls provide a refreshing stop before continuing to the historic Lion’s Den Hotel for lunch. The track then opens out toward Cooktown, marking the end of a true far‑north adventure.
